2024 Toyota Supra Colors, Changes, Release Date – When the Toyota Supra was introduced a few years back, ardent fans were incensed that a manual transmission option wasn’t offered. Toyota has responded to these demands by providing the 2024 Toyota Supra with a six-speed manual on all six-cylinder variants after three model years on the market. Although we have previously driven aftermarket modifications, this is the first time the A90 Supra is available with three pedals out of the box.
Toyota flew us up to Park City, Utah so we could test drive the manual-equipped Supra on the racing track to see if the new transmission was worth the wait. We have some opinions on the new gearbox and the Supra itself three years into its lifespan after spending some time in it at high speeds.
2024 Toyota Supra Redesign
Exterior And Interior Design
Toyota claims that the updated suspension in all Supra models for the 2019 model year provides greater comfort and better roll balancing. It’s difficult for us to claim that these tuning adjustments are immediately apparent because we only had time with the car on a smooth race circuit. The 2024 Toyota Supra still rolls quite a bit through bends in terms of roll balance, suggesting that Toyota still intended the vehicle to be a grand tourer rather than a track weapon.
The Supra’s tail-happy attitude is enhanced with a new Hairpin+ mode on all 3.0 grades that allows for additional wheel spin on tight hairpins and uphill climbs. A few changes have also been made to the power steering, which still has a light feel but is a little more responsive than the previous design.
On the outside, a new 19-inch forged aluminum wheel option is available on MT versions and looks fantastic in person. Stratosphere Blue is a new paint color choice.
The 2024 Toyota Supra comes with heated leather seats as standard, and 3.0 Premium models add head-up displays, 12-speaker JBL audio, wireless charging, and black and red upholstery.
The aforementioned A91-MT Edition receives its own distinctive colors, continuing the tradition of a new special edition every year. Burnout is a cool matte white, but CU Later Gray, a color that shines in the sun with a vivid golden flake, captured our hearts. Though it has a dubious resemblance to BMW’s Dravit Grey, that must be a coincidence. The new 19-inch wheels are carried over as standard for the special edition, but they are finished in Frozen Gunmetal Gray.
2024 Toyota Supra Engine
The 2024 Toyota Supra features two engines that may be ordered from BMW: the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six. With 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, the standard engine can accelerate from 0 to 60 in only five seconds. You only have the eight-speed automatic as a transmission option if you choose this Supra’s lower power.
Only the six-cylinder versions come with a manual transmission, but this option is available on all trim levels that use this engine. The manual is included with the Supra 3.0 and 3.0 Premium versions, but only three pedals are included with the new A91 MT Edition, which is only available in 500 units in the US. The 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque are the same as those of the previous year’s model in terms of outputs. The new manual’s 0-60 time is 4.2 seconds rather than the automatic’s 3.9 seconds; this is the cost of having to row your own gears.
2024 Toyota Supra Release Date And Price
The four-cylinder Supra 2.0 starts at $43,540 in 2024. For that kind of money, we’d be happier with the more powerful Nissan Z, which has a 400-hp twin-turbo V6. Both the manual and automatic versions of the 3.0 trim with the inline-six cost $52,500. The A91-MT tops the list with a price of $58,345 compared to the 3.0 Premium’s $55,650.
