In fact, in 1958, it was the first Toyota to be shipped in substantial quantities to the US. The faltering full-size sedan market welcomes back the 2024 Toyota Crown, but this time it has a secret weapon up its sleeve. The 2024 Toyota Crown, in contrast to the retired Avalon, features standard hybrid power and an elevated design that gives it a crossover-like appearance. We cannot recall any current automobiles marketed in the US that suit this sedan-SUV shape that aren’t electric vehicles like the Polestar 2 and Tesla Model 3. Exterior And Interior Design
The 2024 Toyota Crown is a peculiar bird, which makes it challenging to characterize. It is a sizeable 3.7 inches taller than a Camry at 60.6 inches tall. In spite of this, the Crown only has a 5.8-inch ground clearance, which is just 0.1 inches greater than its more traditional sister. That is as a result of its misleading proportions. Even though it looks like a crossover, the Crown’s higher height is mostly due to a higher belt line, not a noticeably raised suspension.

Standard wheels are 19 inches, whereas 21-inch wheels are standard on higher models.
The interior of the Crown is as upscale as a Toyota can be before becoming a Lexus. We were particularly taken with the black woven cloth on the XLE, even though the Limited and Platinum grades provide heated/ventilated leather seats in either all-black or all-black with chestnut and macadamia. This high-quality fabric is similar to the wool seats that come in the Japanese Century sedan. They are softer to the touch and let in more air than leather.
All grades include a 12.3-inch touchscreen as nicely as a digital meter cluster display that is the same size. The newest Toyota infotainment system, which powers the touchscreen, supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 2024 Toyota Crown feels like it’s in a class of its own since none of those vehicles offers a hybrid drivetrain. Pricing for the Crown XLE starts at $39,950, making it more expensive than the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Kia Stinger, and Nissan Maxima but less than the Volkswagen Arteon.
